a place for girls to belong…
What if we remembered how to tend to our daughters as they cross the invisible threshold between childhood and adolescence?
What if, instead of leaving them to navigate these tender years alone, we wrapped them in warmth, ritual, and wise mentorship?
Girls Group is a weekly after-school sanctuary for girls navigating these important - and challenging - threshold years. This offering is a call to gather, and to remember the ancient ways of growing up - held by community and woven with care.
Girls Group is a living, breathing circle for girls who are navigating the shift from child to adolescent.
It’s a place for them to begin exploring the mysteries of the feminine. A place for girls to find belonging in a peer group that is held with respect and tenderness.
It’s an oasis for girls to be silly, messy, confused, excited, scared or sad. It is a safe place where they can let go of the masks they wear and be themselves.
This is a return to what we all once had—and what our daughters still deserve:
A safe circle.
A haven.
A place to be seen.
And while this is not a replacement for one-on-one therapy, I am a therapist and have the skills to hold all that is arising emotionally for your girls at this time.
Adolescence arrives like a tide - powerful, unpredictable, and often overlooked in our culture. At this age, the intellect sharpens, emotions swell, and the questions begin to deepen:
Who am I?
Where do I belong?
What is happening to me, and is it okay?
Without guidance, these questions can turn into silence, shame, or isolation. But with loving mentorship and soulful community, this time can become a foundation for confidence, compassion, and self-trust.
Girls Group exists to honor this transition as sacred.
We hold space for grief and celebration. For the shedding of childhood and the dawning of something new. We name it, honor it, and walk it together.
Why this matters
Girls Group meets once a week after school, creating a consistent rhythm and relationship. We weave together a holistic approach inspired by:
🌿 Nature connection & seasonal living
🔥 Ceremony & ritual
🎨 Expressive and soul-based arts
🌀 Emotional processing & space-holding
🧘♀️ Mindfulness & embodiment practices
No two girls are the same, and neither are these groups. Each circle is responsive, intuitive, and crafted to meet the evolving needs of its members - gently guiding them toward self-awareness, resilience, and belonging.
My approach:
The tools we weave in:
The art of council
Ceremony & ritual
Strengthening emotional intelligence
Conflict resolution & relationship skills
Body awareness & age-appropriate sex and cycle education
Self-expression
Somatic awareness
Stress & anxiety tools
Confidence building & healthy risk taking

What parents are saying:
"The transition from girl to early
womanhood has always been challenging, but these days, it seems even more difficult . I am grateful for the space that Kelsey holds for these girls. My daughter finds comfort in the circle, as well as learning about boundaries and new forms of expression. I highly recommend this for all girls looking for belonging” - Amber
When my daughter first joined Girls Group at age 11, I wondered whether she'd feel comfortable showing up week after week and being vulnerable in a circle of peers. That concern quickly fadeD - quite the opposite happened. She looked forward to every session.
Over time, I noticed a growing sense of confidence and self-awareness. She came home talking about boundaries, reflecting on friendships, and drawing on what she was learning in conversations with me. She seemed to feel genuinely seen and accepted. I appreciated that she was supported in developing her emotional literacy and encouraged to journal and connect with her inner world during such an important stage of growing up.
What I particularly love about this space is that it offers something many girls are hungry for but don't often find: a place where they can be authentic, connect meaningfully with peers, and explore personal growth in a supportive environment. As a psychologist, I know how tender and challenging the middle school years can be as girls navigate friendships, belonging, and conflict. The balance of playfulness, creativity, and emotional depth felt unique.
Kelsey brings exquisite care and thoughtfulness to the group, skillfully weaving in different themes, creating a welcoming atmosphere, organizing snacks, and keeping parents connected through regular email updates. The friendships extended beyond the group itself, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent wanting their daughter to feel more connected, supported, and grounded in who she is. - Sara
